New Seafood Merchandising, Budgeting and Statistics Veeps at Price Chopper

Mike Howard & Lee French

Golub Corp./Price Chopper Supermarkets has promoted Lee E. French to the position of v.p. seafood merchandising, and Michael Howard to the position of v.p., budgeting and statistics.

French reports directly to v.p. of perishables Mark Brown, while Howard reports directly to s.v.p. of finance John Endres.

In his new role French will be responsible for all financial results for the seafood department. He is filling a vacant position.

French been with Price Chopper since 1975, working 10 years in stores and holding several main office and operational positions. He most recently served as director of seafood merchandising.

Howard, meanwhile, will continue to oversee the development of the annual profit plan, financial statistical analysis, and the general ledger financial reporting system for the regional grocer.

He has worked for Price Chopper since 1977 and has held various financial positions, his most recent being director of budgeting and statistics.

Based in Schenectady, N.Y., the family-owned Golub Corp. owns and operates 115 Price Chopper grocery stores in New York, Vermont, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, and New Hampshire. Golub employs over 23,000 associates, who collectively own 55 percent of the company's privately held stock.
