Las Vegas (Oct. 22, 2009) - Michelob Brewing Company's spring seasonal, Hop Hound Amber Wheat, was honored on Wednesday, Oct. 20, at the CSNews Supermarket Guru Best New Products Awards as the best new product in the beer category.
Hop Hound's slight caramel sweetness and refreshing citrus notes struck a chord with the judge - "The Supermarket Guru" Phil Lempert, one of the food and beverage industries most distinguished authors and speakers - who rated it top of the class among new beers. Additional judging criteria included appearance, packaging and value.
Nate Scudieri, Michelob Brewing Co. brand manager was on-hand to accept the award at the NACS (National Association of Convenience Stores) Show in Las Vegas. In addition to receiving the crystal-engraved award, Hop Hound Amber Wheat will be spotlighted in an upcoming issue of CSNews.
